The Yankees’ and Dodgers’ magic numbers to clinch a postseason berth are down to 1.
On the NL side, the Dodgers, Braves, Phillies and Cubs all have playoff odds above 97%, according to FanGraphs. The Brewers, Braves and Dodgers are in position to win their divisions, while the Cubs currently hold the top wild card.
In the AL, the Yankees and Red Sox have playoff odds of 99% or better. Also in playoff position are the Astros, White Sox and Guardians. The Rays, White Sox and Astros currently lead their divisions, with the Yankees, Red Sox and Guardians making up the wild-card field.
But there’s still a lot up for grabs in the wild-card race, as the Blue Jays and Rangers are within two games of the final spot in the AL, and the
